I learned the difference of those two today.
Value/Valuable: Has no concrete and immediate result (to add to that no one will ever see the result).
Truely Good: Valuable because it has a LEGITIMATE result.
For these two differences, we live in a world where the morality of the consequences reign. Meaning we do something good just because there is an immediate symbol that shows that what we do is really good. For example, we study hard because we get good grades; thus, we make our parents proud and happy.
So, the question faced before us is, "Will we do something good when no one will ever get to see the fruits of your goodness (not even you)?" (Are you willing to wait for heaven to judge you and give you your reward? what if there is no heaven?)
Conversely, "Why not commit injustice when the result of that act will never be seen by anyone?" (Are you willing to live the evil life and live luxuriously; and wait for hell to condemn you? What if there is no hell?)
Socrates said, "IT IS BETTER TO SUFFER IN JUSTICE THAN TO COMMIT INJUSTICE."
Hildebrand adds, "for COMMITING INJUSTICE is a violation to VALUE."
What do you say? What do you do? What next?
